Thoughts on all think worth thinking about. I think it, then write it. I will probably post more about the Hip Hop Culture than anything else, so don't expect much about stilettos, cooking and shopping. But do enjoy because, its only words.

It Costs Money To LOOK Hip Hop
The hip hop culture has always been about, partly, looking good, a certain type of gear, street wear, baggy pants, nice kicks, hoodies and head gear.
And today that very same lifestyle is still being pushed to the max, even though designers have added in your new look. Now you can get heads spotting on some skinny jeans, a whole lot of accessories, gadgets, more colours are in now as well. That being said it seems the lifestyle is becoming more and more expensive. Even belts are hitting below the belt when it comes to pricing. Looking hip hop is a really steep price to pay if you ask me.
Of course you can’t compare on quality, you can’t compare on looking haute in that big brand you love so much (hello Butan). You wanna feel your swag dripping behind you as you step on by. But i just wish ish weren’t so expensive though, yeah you heard right I am complaining.
Don’t sell us the price; try selling the look without jacking us off. I’d love to see a mixed look where there is both an exclusive brand and merchandise from your regular clothing store, where most would be able to quickly get the item without having to “save up” first. I’d like to see magazines do this. Coz not, you selling us the life we can’t really afford and it’ll just be the life we wish to have. The clothes we see on magz, yeah they paid for that ad space...but what about on those promotional shoots, those cover shoots, those “get this look” type thing, I’d love to see some mix and match in there. I’m a youth; i don’t necessarily see the point of buying a pair of jeans that set me back a k, a k i dont have...
Yeah we love to look good, but what if you cant afford to buy a t- shirt for R 450, or you just like me and think that is a ridiculous price for a t-shirt, yeah its branded, so what its still cotton. The things i would not or do not mind paying up for are kicks and hoodies . Some other places i improvise. I know we not forced to buy or wear all these expensive clothes we see. But if it’s all you see it’s kinda hard to just ignore. If its all that’s advertised, if its all we see on the magazines, if its all we see on them videos, if its all we see on them artists when doing interviews or TV appearances.....some of them don’t even buy em clothes coz they “ endorsers” . all i’m asking is for some regular “affordable” gear for some of us who love the hip hop culture but don’t have the thousands to spend around, just to look like we do...
love hiphop/live hiphop/respect hiphop
